Frequently asked questions
Getting Started and Pricing
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes! We offer a 30-day free trial period so you can fully evaluate ACS3 before committing to a subscription. A credit card is required to start your trial, but you won’t be charged unless you continue after the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, your card will not be charged.
What are the differences between the Professional version and the Training version of the ACS3?
The two versions have identical features. The only differences are:
- Pricing: The Training version has significantly lower per-user costs (designed for academic training purposes).
- Usage limit: In the Training version, each user account can have up to 5 participants. The Professional version offers unlimited participants. This limitation ensures the Training version is used for its intended purpose of classroom teaching or training.
Do you have an academic or student rate?
Our pricing for the Professional version was determined based on feedback from academic researchers, and we do not have a separate academic or student rate. However, we do offer a monthly subscription option, which can reduce the overall cost for short-term projects. We understand that for ongoing academic research grants, it may be difficult to cover expenses not included in the original grant budget, and we would be happy to work with you within your budget. We would simply ask you to include our base pricing in your future grant budgets.
Is my ACS3 subscription cancellable?
Yes, your subscription is cancellable at the end of your subscription term. For monthly subscriptions, your cancellation will take effect at the end of the subscribed month. For annual subscriptions, the cancellation happens at the end of the subscription year. You will have 30 days after your subscription ends to download your data in CSV format.
Features & Capabilities
What are the benefits of using ACS3 instead of the original paper version of ACS?
ACS3 is a digital platform that incorporates the approach of the paper ACS to evaluate activity profiles that are inherently personal. The key benefits include:
- Diverse representation: Instead of using one picture per activity, ACS3 displays three photos showing a variety of ways in which an activity can be done by people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Automatic scoring: No manual calculations required; all scores are computed automatically.
- Integrated health measures: Includes optional PROMIS-29 and PROMIS Global Health questionnaires to understand clients' occupational performance in the context of their overall health.
- Enhanced goal-setting: Identifies barriers and facilitators to engaging in desired activities and whether the client prefers to do activities alone or with others.
- Flexibility: Sessions can be paused and resumed across any device, allowing participants to complete assessments at their own pace.
Do we need to pay extra for the use of PROMIS-29 or PROMIS Global Health?
No. The use of either PROMIS measure does not change your subscription cost.
Can we add other measures instead of PROMIS-29 or PROMIS Global Health?
Not yet. If you are interested in administering ACS3 with some other measures, especially other PROMIS measures, please let us know and we'll consider adding them in future releases.
Can we customize ACS3 to use just some of the activities?
Currently the activities are not customizable. We may offer some activity customization features in future releases. However, we would strongly recommend the use of the full set of activities as they provide a comprehensive view of the person's activity participation patterns.
Do you have ACS3 in a different language than American English?
Not yet. We currently have only the American English version. However, this is on our product roadmap and we will offer ACS3 in other languages in the future.
Assessment Administration
What are the differences between mobile and remote administration modes?
Both modes use birthdate and zip code for authentication since participants do not have their own login accounts:
- Mobile mode: ACS3 can be administered on a mobile device by scanning a QR code. This is useful when you have a clinic or study tablet that you want the person to use, or when you want the person to use their own device.
- Remote mode: The link to ACS3 will be emailed to a person to complete remotely from any location.
- A person can start a session in one mode and resume the session at the same spot in another mode, providing maximum flexibility.
Can we not collect participants' birth date and zip code since these data are not required in our study and are individual-identifiable?
The birth date and the zip code are optional fields that are used only if you use the mobile and remote administration modes. For both modes, the person's birth date and zip code are used for authentication purposes since participants do not have their own login accounts. For studies that want to use the mobile or remote ACS3 modes without collecting actual birth dates and zip codes, fake birth dates and zip codes can be assigned to participants to access either administration mode.
Can I export my assessment data?
Yes. Project Administrators can download participant data in CSV format at any time during their active subscription. After your subscription ends, you have a 30-day grace period to download your data before individual-identifiable participant records are deleted.
